A Few Questions That Bother Me So . . .

Where did they come from?

  • Once upon a time at a concert far, far away in Cincinnati, Ohio, a guy by the name of Jimmy (last name not important) commented about the brightly dressed crowd, wearing Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats who kept coming to his shows, just like a bunch of "Deadheads" at a Grateful concert. Then Timothy B. Schmit, a former Coral Reefer and a member of the bands Poco and Eagles, coined the term "Parrotheads."

What is a Parrothead?

  • Your stereotypical Parrot Head is a fun-loving guy or gal who will on occasion wear brightly colored tropical shirts, don a pair of flip-flops, shorts (or maybe a grass skirt and coconut bra) and a crazy hat while heartily sipping a Margarita. These people are often incognito and may be sitting next to you right now. However to flush them out turn on a little Cheeseburger in Paradise or stick a hulu shark on their dash board and watch them go into a feeding frenzy.

You know what they say, birds of a feather?

  • When a "phlock" of Parrotheads come together, strange things start to happen. It could be your doctor, your police chief or classroom teacher, but one thing is for sure something good will come from all that craziness to a neighborhood near you. They clean the local beaches, pick up trash along our highways and raise money for good causes. But they always find a way to have fun, or you could say they just like to “Party with a Purpose”.

If your are a card carrying member by all means let us know from where you roost and what phlock you fly with.
